Sammy's PLAYLIST ∣ episode2: KOREAN INDIE

Hey guys! :D

So, here I am today with Sammy's PLAYLIST ∣ episode2.
This time with Korean Indie! 

One of my favourite music genre is Indie music, but standard western Indie and Korean Indie (a.k.a K-Indie) are different.

K-Indie tends to be more acoustic-like (doesn't mean it always has to use acoustic instruments) and mellow, which is good for study times or simply just chilling time.

Here I have a list of my Top 5 K-Indie artist:

#5) Standing Egg (스탠딩 애그)

Funny name... I know lol... but hey! they are number 5!
From folk to reggae, punk to pop, even jazz with hints of bossa nova, there is nothing that this trio cannot manage to pull off with their signature style of sophistication. Simply put, their music is an oasis for the ears of music lovers who can’t quite seem to quench their musical thirst with anything else.

#4) eAeon (이이언)

Ok, I MUST SAY, eAeon is definitely one of my favourite indie artist of all time. He is originally from this band called Mot (못) which means pond. He then made few songs and released an album titles "Guilt-Free". I was so excited when his new album Realize came out at the beginning of 2012.

#3) MATE (메이트)

Basically, the TOP 3's are like TOP 1 for me... all three of them lol. I EQUALLY LOVE THEM SO MUCH, but for the sake of the ranking thing, I must sadly rate MATE number 3 T^T.

These guys are mega talented and have won several awards in the past and even wrote and produced all of their music. But what allows Mate to command the kind of attention they do is, of course, their music. Written, composed, and produced by the members themselves, Mate’s melodies can be anything from soft-rolling melodies with easy cadence to heart-pounding dramas strung together by the electronic notes of the keyboard and the smooth strings of the guitar. There is not a disappointing song on their entire Be Mate album, as each song tells a compelling story of young love, wild youth, or struggles and triumphs of understanding oneself that is brought to life by thoughtful and emotional music.

I had the hardest time picking up my favourite 3 songs from them because, HONESTLY, I love EVERY SINGLE SONG of them :( but hey... Here are the three "favourite":

#2) Nell (넬)

Ta-dah! NELL... yeah...th eone you guys know...

As I said before, Nell should also be number for me.... but oh well...

Nell is one band that I have loved since very young (around 13,14) till now (18)

They have this music style that defines NELL as itself.

If you don't understand me, listen to them and you'll get what I mean...

To be honest, I can easily pick the 3 most memorable song of them, as these three songs are MUST LISTEN from Nell... at least for me.

#1) JUNG JOON IL

WOO-HOO! Finally number 1!

Ok, so this guy called Jung Joon Il is actually the main singer and keyboardist of the band MATE. yes, the number three one, lol.
HE HAS SUCH A GOOD VOICE! seriously though! he makes you feel depressed but also happy, which is very good for healing times. 

I personally listen to JJI a lot! like you guys don't even know how much!
